Bond is an AI agent that administers a Discord server from a natural-language request. This policy is the whole of what it receives, what it keeps, and who else sees any of it.

1. Introduction

Bond ("we", "our", or "the Service") is an AI-powered Discord bot that helps server administrators manage their Discord servers using natural language. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use Bond.

2. Information we collect

Discord data. When you interact with Bond, we receive and process:

  • Your Discord user ID and username
  • The server (guild) ID where Bond is used
  • Message content when you mention @Bond
  • Channel IDs where commands are issued

Stored data. We store the following in our database:

  • Tool permissions you have granted per server
  • Server subscription status, token pack balances and earned credit balances
  • Daily usage counts for rate limiting
  • Payment history, as transaction IDs rather than payment details
  • If you connect ChatGPT, an encrypted OpenAI authorization credential, account email, plan type and selected model

3. How we use your information

  • To process and carry out your server management requests
  • To keep your permission preferences across sessions
  • To enforce weekly allowances and server safety limits
  • To process subscription payments through Polar.sh
  • To improve our responses and service quality

4. Third-party services

Bond integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Discord, for bot functionality and server management
  • AI providers, which process your requests so Bond can understand and carry them out
  • Polar.sh, for subscription management and payment processing
  • OpenAI, if you enable the optional ChatGPT connection: your prompts and the relevant conversation context are sent to OpenAI through Codex and count against your ChatGPT subscription allowance
  • Our hosting provider, for VPS infrastructure and database hosting

5. Data retention

We retain conversation history so follow-up messages, memories and dashboard chat work. Permission settings and usage data are retained until deletion is requested. If you connect ChatGPT, the encrypted authorization credential is retained while the connection is disabled or your Bond plan is inactive, so you do not need to authenticate again after resubscribing. It is deleted when you disconnect ChatGPT or delete your Bond account.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted database connections (SSL/TLS), secure API communications, access controls, and application-level authenticated encryption for stored ChatGPT credentials. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your stored data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Revoke tool permissions at any time with the /permissions commands
  • Remove Bond from your server to stop all data collection
  • Disconnect ChatGPT at any time, which deletes the stored authorization credential

8. Children's privacy

Bond is not intended for users under the age of 13, or the minimum age Discord requires in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will tell users about significant changes through our Discord server, or by updating the date above.
